Dr. Janet McKenzie

 

Janet McKenzie is an Author, Artist and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Dundee. She carried out independent research at King's College, Cambridge and on return to Australia taught at the Canberra School of Art, the Victorian College of the Arts and the City Arts Institute, Sydney. She published: Drawing in Australia, Contemporary Images and Ideas (1986) and Noel Counihan (1986).  She completed her Doctorate at the University of St. Andrews on The Art of Arthur Boyd, published by Thames and Hudson (2000). Janet co-edited Studio International with her late husband Michael Spens (2000-2014), and wrote Contemporary Australian Drawing #1, commissioned by Metasenta® and published Macmillian Art Publishing. She has also co-edited The Drawn Word, published by Studio International and The University of the Arts London (2012).
