Graduate from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Philippe Charluet has worked extensively as a Producer/ Director within Television networks and as an independent.

In 1995, Philippeset up Stella Motion Pictures Pty Ltd, a production company focusing primarily on documentaries (all genres) and cultural programming. His programs thrive on diversity of subjects; from unearthing the challenges of the creative process (Sleeping Beauty: Behind the Curtain & Romeo & Juliet: A New Vision(Foxtel), Wild Swans, Tivoli: The Making of a Dance Musical & Old Friends New Friends [ABC], ART21series [PBS], Artzone Series [Film Australia, ABC Education], Imagine & Masterpiece series [SBS]); to discovering Persian and European Medieval history and culture through the prism of ancient Book Arts and music (Love and Devotion: from Persia and beyond [Foxtel, BBC Persian], The Medieval Imagination [SBS]); finding love though the labyrinth of introduction agencies and ‘singles services’ (So Simple So Hard [SBS, Carlton TV (UK), RTSI (Switzerland), WTN (Canada)]; to the issue of car theft and joyriding (Rush [ABC]); recovering from acquired brain injury (Alicia [SBS, Aust network]); questioning photography as ‘Art or pornography’ (Bill Henson: Dreams of Darkness [SBS]);  - all stand for life’s array of captivating stories...  

 

Philippe also regularly works internationally, filming, producing, or shooting productions for USA (ie ‘Dances of Life’, PBS), UK (ie ‘We Are Many’ feature doc) and France's (ie ‘Peinture Pintuppi’, Arte).
